What Can't Go in a Dumpster? Prohibited Items List | Titan Dump Co.
Hazardous waste, liquids, tires, batteries, wet paint, chemicals, asbestos, medical waste and appliances containing freon cannot go in a roll-off dumpster. Ohio landfills refuse these items, and anything found in the load gets sorted out and billed back. Everything else — household junk, furniture, construction debris, yard waste, wood, drywall, shingles, concrete — is fine.

What to do with the items we can't take
Cuyahoga County runs household hazardous waste collection for paint, chemicals and batteries. Most auto parts retailers accept used oil and car batteries at no charge. Tire retailers take scrap tires for a small fee.
For freon appliances, a certified technician must evacuate the refrigerant and tag the unit before it can be hauled. Tell us in advance and we'll route it correctly.
Why it matters to your bill
Prohibited items found at the scale are pulled from the load and disposed of separately, and that cost is passed through. A single can of paint can turn into a sorting charge larger than a rental day.

Frequently asked
Can I put a mattress in a dumpster?
Yes, with a per-item fee. Ohio landfills charge separately for mattresses and box springs, so tell us the count at booking.
Can I put concrete in a dumpster?
Yes, but it should go in a dedicated heavy-material load. Concrete hits the tonnage allowance quickly, so a 10 yard is usually the right container.
Can I put a refrigerator in a dumpster?
Only if the freon has been professionally evacuated and the unit is tagged. Otherwise it must be handled as a separate appliance pickup.
